Sir Neville Marriner has a proven track record when it comes to supporting emerging young artists, providing the platform for a supremely talented, 13-year-old Julia Fischer to tour with a full orchestra, and for current Music Director, Joshua Bell, to record his first concertos disc at 18 years of age. Another promising young musician in the form of the 23-year-old Dutch cellist, Harriet Krijgh, joins Sir Neville and the Academy for three dates in Germany, to perform Elgar’s famed Cello Concerto, which achieved popularity through the sensational performances of Jacqueline du Pré in the early 1960s.
